Great to hear you lads on here chatting about your writing, oddly enough there are so many others who'd benefit from what you are doing and just even realise it. Keep it up.

He should take it to school Alex.
James took my book to his Special School, and they use it in the classroom to help with their poetry !

Hello, Much like you Poet Soldier, the one thing anyone learns from my work is for goodness sake use the spell check, the problem i have with that is that it takes so much time correcting that i loose the theme of what i was about to print, so i now print it like i say it. Taffy

Yes, that is right you have to get the essence down no matter what it looks like.

Then once the madness has gone I have a cup of tea and sit back and relax and see what I have and whether or not it is feasible to apply a rhyming form to it or should I leave it as prose or see if it can be made into a tone poem or a combination.

As an autistic person I am drawn to the sonnet because it forces me to be very compact in my thoughts but allows me to use couplets, triplets, quads, etc., within the 14 lines.

Well I guess its my turn, my name is Len Payne and I live in Abbotsford, British Columbia. I was born in Romsey Extra, Hampshire and served a total of 16 years both Regular and TA(AER) in the Royal Corps of Signals. My postings took me to Germany, Japan, Korea, Cyprus and Suez as well as the UK. My interests are many and I took up writing poetry as an escape from a hectic and demanding job, now that I am retired I enjoy the internet, photography, walking as best I can on my 75 year old legs, keeping in touch with other ex Scaleybacks aand poetry.
Thanks for all the kind comments on my efforts and as they say 'my donation is in the mail' ..

Len
