The humidity is horrible today even Oddenstein is finding it tiresome each time he floats into a cable or lighting fixture and gets zapped.

The Journey Art Group has finally moved from its cramped quarters into a new base at The Palace Theatre, which will allow us to grow and has secure storage for our items.

I have started archival research at the Newark Conservation Centre into 'Newark Subterrannea' and should have catalogued my sources with a second visit to it this week.

I then have the catalogue cards to go through and they may take another week or two depending upon what they have for me.

After that it is the Nottingham Archives and I shall have to find a willing driver.

Stein is glaring at me and waving a holey foot.

I must get a new keyboard, this one is driving me round the bend, I practically have to hammer each ky through the base to get it to make a mark.

Blasted crocodile won't let me repair his foot.

All because the other three feet were done by Nell and they haven't got holes in, now he wants me to go all the way down to London and Nell in order to have his foot sewn up.

Can't remember the song it comes from but it is a spoof of the song 'Ernie' - the fastest milkman in the west.

The wheels all get shot off in the spoof.

For Chris:

THREE WHEELS ON MY WAGON
(Burt Bacharach / Bob Hilliard)

The New Christy Minstrels

Three wheels on my wagon,
And Im still rolling along
The Cherokees are chasing me
Arrows fly, right on by
But Im singing a happy song

Im singing a higgity, haggity, hoggety, high
Pioneers, they never say die
A mile up the road theres a hidden cave
And we can watch those Cherokees
Go galloping by

SPOKEN: George, theyre catching up to us!
Get back in the wagon woman!

Two wheels on my wagon,
And Im still rolling along
Them Cherokees are after me
Flaming spears, burn my ears
But Im singing a happy song

Im singing a higgity, haggity hoggety, high
Pioneers, they never say die
Half a mile up the road theres a hidden cave
And we can watch those Cherokees
Go galloping by

SPOKEN: Duh, Paw? Are you sure this is the right road?
Will you hush up? You and your maps!

One wheel on my wagon,
And Im still rolling along
Them Cherokees after me
Im all in flames, at the reins
But Im singing a happy song

Im singing a higgity, haggity hoggety, high
Pioneers, they never say die
Right around that turn theres a hidden cave
And we can watch those Cherokees
Go galloping by

SPOKEN: George? Should I get the bag of beads and trinkets?
Woman, I know what Im doing!

No wheels on my wagon,
So Im not rolling along
The Cherokees captured me
They look mad, things look bad
But Im singing a happy song

SPOKEN: Cmon all you Cherokees sing along with me!

Higgity, haggity hoggety, high
Pioneers, they never say die

Thanks Tom.

I've uploaded a few poems via attachment - 18 files comprising an Introduction to the Section and a cover photo of the original booklet and the 16 poems, they form a limited edition of 500 in 1983, just as I was leaving the army.

Thursday? Thursday?

Oh yes, got Newark Cemetery on that day - cups of tea, pamphlets and toast and trundling around trying to get people to join the Friends of Newark Cemetery.

Wednesday today and I have sweet talked our local manager of WH Smith to sell my books without taking a 40% cut.

I have to go back again tomorrow and find out about how he wants to go about getting hold of the books.

Then I have the bank to see to and the account for the book's donations, which is a general purposes saving account - unfortunately, none of the forms for doing so mention anything to do with books or donations.

After that I hall have a word with the other bookshops in the area.
