Oddenstein has had an idea for selling cars, "We create a universal chassis, which we tell the punters is free, it is not because I will cost it into the other components.

Then you buy everything else as optional extras, e.g. the brakes."

I love this new computer, but it is taking a bit of getting used to and there are some settings that I must sort out, but they are different in Windows 7 and this is a 64 bit machine, so I have had to install 2 browsers, the second one being for 32 bit operation and for the Adobe Flash, because they have not written code for the 64 bit O/S.

Incredibly fast as well because it has 4 layers in the chip and multi-tasking is very good.

Oddenstein has developed an environmentally-unfriendly engine for his new car - it runs on coal.

The basic car comes with 1 stoker, the average one has 2 stokers and the deluxe version has a conveyer belt and 3 stokers.

Oddment said the car would be very large and would have to run on rails, but 'stein intends to use very small bipeds.

The engine is a cracking plant and the waste products are so dangerous that the car can only be used in areas where old oil refineries are located.

Oddenstein is pushing for Jeremy Clarkson to come and test it because it does 0 to 60 in zero seconds according to the advertising, which translates into about 10 minutes of real-time. It should be a hit with Top Gear because it guzzles fuel by the megaton.

Meanwhile they tried the vehicle out on the road and found that it melts the tarmac back to the natural rock and relays it, all in one quick operation.

Oddenstein is hunting for Oddment, because Oddment sold the car to the Tarmac company for a tidy profit and has invested in a kapok tree forest, which has devalued the Kapok, which is the currency of choice in the swamp.

Oddment has stored the boxes of seed with the Rural Mint and says that he has future-proofed the currency.

Oddenstein is.............................Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

64 bits and 4 layers and it is supposed to handle more data and more efficiently.

I have to presume that is why, when it hits a problem we have a very fast crash followed by a temper tantrum and the computer switches off and then back on. I wonder if they deliberately gave the computer a temper or did it contrive to throw tantrums as a result of extra computing power.

I wonder what would happen if you bought a top of the range computer only to find that it is neurotic and you have to type confidence boosting messages in order to get the computer to do anything.

Might be a good way of treating people who have anger management problems - grin.

The pronoun 'I' is a very difficult concept for me, as an autistic, the relationship of not being a group but rather of being a single entity, all-be-it a heavily verbal, non-verbal and socially interactive identity, but, nevertheless, you are on your own.

If I think of me, then it is 'it' or 'one' or an all-embracing 'we' but generally not as 'I'.

As a writer and a man of 56 the use of 'I' has become second nature to me within the world of the typewriter or computer keyboard, but in my verbal side I use 'I' very little, though I do use the sub-personalities - the crocs and associated puppets - a great deal and may tell Nell that Oddenstein thinks such and such, of course that is an individual moment where the 'I' function would normally be used by a neurotypical person.

Nell has become my other half and when she is not here I feel as though half of my body, mind, soul and emotions are missing also - it is a petty grief, but real for all of that and it takes me back to 1980 and watching Mum die. She had cancer of the throat and it was a slow process.

When someone is told that they have terminal cancer, especially if they have their close family with them, it feels as though the process of grief and parting has already started.

The death of Mum was a relief because her suffering was at an end, but then one is left with the selfish anger of a grown up child and rage and tears do not remove the gaping hole that has been torn within ones personna.

Each time Nell goes into hospital there is this preparation for the worst and each time, so far, she has returned and we are complete again.

Love can be so very selfish and one is jealous of the lost seconds that one is not with one's other half.

But death is a natural consequence of all life and without it none of us would live or be able to grow and in turn pass on our knowledge and eventually die and for our children and their children to pick up the reins and guide the horse along their chosen paths.

When one loves another, then one accepts everything about that person and the people who have made them into the personality that one loves. One may never meet any of these people but one's love must encompass them and draw them within the mantle of one's love.

Love brings authority and its converse responsibility and from these is derived duty but not the duty of the military or services but rather the duty of love and the caring from love and it is a little ironic the Thatcher's lot brought in Duty of Care as though this punitive act of parliament was an act of love by government.

One's philosophy stills the mind but not the heart.

Oddment "Underfloor heating?"

Oddenstein "correct, I understand that the swamp was built with underfloor heating, an 'odd' concept that you must be feeling at home about..."

Oddment: "Are the floors stone?"

Oddenstein: "I don't know, why?"

Oddment: "Well if they are wood, won't they catch fire?"

Oddenstein: "You are referring to the underswamp heating?"

Oddment: "Yes, the biped said that we are getting the conservatory to live in, so we don't have the methane trouble with explosive combustion to worry about."

Oddenstein: "I'm going to miss that and the nightly explosions as various relatives were blown out of the swamp - evil grin."

Oddment: "So what is underfloor heating?"

Oddenstein: "Well you know those pipes we took a walk along the inside of when we were last exploring the carpetverse, well they are laid under the floor and filled with hot water..."

Oddment: "My mildew alarm is out of its box and running like mad for the door..."

Oddenstein: "The pipes have their own boiler connection and it is a sealed system. Is that alarm OK? Is it supposed to be that red colour?""

Oddment: "How do you resuscitate a mildew alarm?"

Oddenstein: "Put it somewhere very dry, I should think."

Sigh...

It appears that we are not going to have a swamp with underfloor heating, we are not even going to be living in a bungalow with a triangular garden - phew!

We are all going to live in a house with a huge conservatory with a small, square garden full of lawn.

The only downside is the river at the bottom of the garden - I think that I shall be living upstairs, on the flattest radiator I can find.

I understand that the 60 odd teddy bears are going to be in the conservatory, mmmmm...
