I know this is early but I want to get things going asap after this years Remembrance has passed.

In late Oct or early Nov 2011 I would dearly love to have 3 members of the armed forces (tri Services) to read their poems on TV. I do not know which programme as yet but I do know that we have the RAF and the Army well represented already on this site (BJ and Alex); all we need now is a representative from the Navy and I have just the lady to fill those shoes too. Lorraine, are you reading this yet?

Comments, thoughts and suggestions for the programme or who to worite to all as always very welcome.

Ah my five minutes of fame Tom, it came quite unexpected to me out in the desert! I've got the CD here, maybe I'll give it another listen.

Mac, do you still have the contact details for Laura at White Pebble Media? She was the producer for that programme, she might be able to help with this project (or give a pointer in the right direction).

I can't think of a better idea, for remembrance is not just above 11 November, it is for every day of the year, especially for those who are still suffering from the result of armed conflict.

This will be brilliant publicity for the site maybe when the day gets closer it would be good for someone (cough... Mac) to try and get on one of the morning news talk shows that the BBC do or even on the Morning show.
Just a little thought.

Thanks all for the support, if the nation gave the same support to our serving and retired armed forces FLOW would hardly be required .

I have written to "This Morning" for 2 years without a response. I have watched in disbelief the (in my opinion) lame stories they give time to on the run up to Remembrance and I feel a pain in my gut as I know that all we need if 3 minutes to say to the British public, here we are, this is what we do, now help those who need your help.

If anyone has any ideas on who to contact or any mad ideas on publicity, then just fire them to me or in here and I will dive in. BJ, I will try to see if I have any contact details for Laura, cheers all.

Hi Mac. I have sent you an email in regard to the
REMEMBRANCE 2011. I don't know if I could be eligable to take part - or if any of my poems'
could be used. I do have an older brother Grant,
who's a Leading Chaplain in the Army. He actually
read a poem - prayer' at last years Remembrance
service' at the Royal Albert Hall. If I can be of
any help - just give me a call. Or, send me an email - or, through the Forces Website? Thanks again, Mac. Best Wishes. From, Darryl.

I think that rather than trying to go 'in the front door' so to speak, you need to look for a hook that would get the BBC and rest of the media interested.

I suggest you ask Dame Vera if she would be your hook.

Another way in to the media, especially the BBC is via a producer or director.

An angle that would be of interest to such people would be if a well known actor were to be asked to join FLOW, for instance:

Stephen Fry

Another person, who I know is involved with the community is David Suchet.

Martin Shaw.

Martin Clunes. (think I might have got the wrong first name).

Felicity Kendal.

Wendy Craig.

Zoe Wannamaker.

etc.

Hi Mac. Having poems read out on TV, would be an absolute honour. I myself would love to take part if it is possible. I do have an elder brother who's serving as an Armed Forces Padre - the second highest ranked Padre in the Country. His name is; William Grant Ashton. If I could possibly be chosen to take part - and maybe read some of my war poems, it really would be an (HONOUR). My book; (My World Of Poems) is out now. Kevin Walsh, are you still interested? Thanks again, Mac. And I hope you can be of some help regarding this TV project? Thank you all. And God Bless you all. From, DARRYL ASHTON. PS. Carol Anne Duffy, sadly, her poems aren't for me! That's just my opinion...!
