What about my feet?

You haven't fixed my feet, never mind about 2 Oddments and another Oddenstein - when are you doing me?

<The overlocker that we have needs fixing>

So?

Nell is coming up, you said, mmmmmmm, completely new set of feet and a tailcoat, I think I'll wait...

Update well I now have a day a week at the local Community Centre, which is for disabled people as opposed to abled, so I shall, at last be able to have a hot shower once a week; have been washing in the kitchen sink to now and have a pile of sores and stuff all over my body.

The OT and Social Workers have all said that my current accomodation is unsuitable and my level of rehousing is now at Grade One.

Great except that there is no suitable housing in this area.

Am I down hearted, of course not, I am busy lobbying the planning department and Developers to build the necessary bungalows and flats.

It will be built and I shall have one built to my own requirements, otherwise there will be trouble.

I don't doubt it - with your fortitude!
It highlights a growing problem of the lack of suitable housing for what I call the able-disabled - maintaining independence with the right facilities!

It is worse than that, you have to change attitudes among providers, there is this idea that they can provide rabbit hutches and they will be fine for 'those people'.

Well for me, as a wheelchair user, I need 2 bedrooms and a garage just to store the extra stuff that I have - for a start 3 large wheelchairs, batery chargers, boxes of adult nappies and I go through 4 or 5 during the day and a couple at night and the bags they come in are big about the same size as 9 toilet rolls and then four of those to a box and I get a month's worth delivered at once and that damn near fills asmall room. Then there is all my medication.

Now throw in transfer boards, lifts, special cushions, special pillows, special seating, tilt tables, and goodness knows what else.

Even my cutlery is too large to put into a drawer, so that has to be found space in my small kitchen.

I have lots of extra clothing and bedding because of the incontinence and that has to be stored somewhere.

It is never ending.

Then I have the same stuff as ables have.

Actually, since kapok is so rare these days and Oddenstein is out busy dismantling old settees and armchairs and several old teddy bears, though he did lose an arm and a leg in the fighting, but managed to rescue both and is now lying in the sick bay waiting for Nell to sew him back together; the value of kapok, in real terms, has been rising because of its rarity.

Pound for pound, kapok compares favourably with lead and copper on the open trading market aka Joe's scrappy for 2nd hand church lead, no questions asked or answered!

Used to be Scraggy Alan when I were a kid! Time to own up and say he contributed to my pocket money - a tomboy in a demolition and re-development area - say no more!
Rag and bone man only gave out goldfish - don't think mom would have allowed a croc in the house - unless it was good at catching mice!

They each have a wheel and there are four shifts and the whole lot is linked to the swamp grid - ahhh, nothing like alternative energy - have radiator will sleep comfortably forever.

The thing about mice is they breed so well, I've got the genetics boys figuring out how we can grow the wheels and the swamp grid, that way we won't be working behind the production rate of new mice.

What do you mean Nell has gone back to London?

What about me?

You're going to throw a few quick stitches in and that'll do until she can get back up to fix my leg and arm.

Its not my fault those blasted teddy bears wouldn't lie still and let me disembowel them - I was being perfectly reasonable about it, I was going to pay them for the kapok, and then they ripped my arm and leg off, so I let them have it with the chainsaw.

Snarl, snap, grrrrr...

You know what you need, mate, you need a parrot, then the parrot can carry the the spare bits and you can hop along behind...

Why do I have to wear this parrot suit?

You suggested it, remember, besides there are no parrots large enough to carry my arm and leg and the spare kapok.

Does Polly want a cracker?

That does it!

Now let me see one laser-guided anti-parrot fire cracker coming up...

What about your limbs and the kapok?

It'll be even rarer - grin.
