It was an early attempt at stop-action photography, but I could not get the skeleton to articulate properly and Oddenstein kept wobbling and falling over. The last two photos show him falling over and landing on his head because I tripped over the camera stand in trying to catch him and set off a snap.

Oddenstein "Yes, I remember that, I had to go for a complete rebuild after that, the skeleton got a bit broken and my head kept dropping down; that was a very nice body and I looked really croccy in it. Go and find me another armature."

You've just had a complete rebuild and a full restuff; I've got 9 Oddensteins and 2 Oddments on order and I have not even started on getting the cloth yet.

Oddenstein: "Just because you are a little behind in the sewing is no reason to leave me desperately in need of a refit."

You've just had a complete refit and an extra hard-wearing hide.

Oddenstein: "Well I cannot stand up on my own..."

And?

Oddenstein: "I had lots of photos taken of me, by everyone. It was very enjoyable and I was not bored out of my kapock brain."

I think that I can put in a wire armature with minimal skin damage, but it would mean waggling the wires through your kapock stuff and getting them to thread into other wires and do the 'hole' lot with just four holes, each one just the diameter of the wire.

Oddenstein: "Don't I get some alcohol to knock me out?"

Figment: "What do you want with my alcohol?"

Oddenstein: "I need it to knock me out."

Figment: "No problem."

Bonk... Thud...

What did you do?

Figment: "I hit him with the bottle, I'm not wasting alcohol on Oddenstein."

I'm not doing him right away.

Figment: "That's all right, he has a very low threshold to alcohol anyway, use the cooking brandy, that's the one we topped up with battery acid after great-grandfather complained that it had gone flat."

Figment: "Mind you keep the liquid away from his hide, otherwise he'll be looking moth eaten, just a couple of drops onto a rag and waft it under his snout and he'll be out for the count for the rest of the week."

We're all going on a Winter Holiday!

Well it will be warmer in London...

OK, ok, we are very sorry that Nell has done her shoulder in while opening the heavy, steel front door of her block of flats.

Yahoo, holiday time and her flat is much warmer than this place.

Figment, talking to Biped:

"It is very simple, we live in here, out there is where you live, right?

OK, so that means that anything that happens out there is not our problem, right?

OK, so that means that theoretically we exist out there but to all practical purposes we don't because we are really in here, right?

Wrong, look we can't all be in here and out there at the same time, that's not reasonable, is it?

I mean I can't be standing in that corner over there and in that other corner over that way?

Can I?

Is that a quantum thing?

So you are saying that you can occupy two different positions at the same time and without moving?

You are also saying that you can occupy a multitude of positions at the same time and all without moving?

OK Biped HOW?"

That's the 27th rock you've ruined today, why can't you treat them more gently?

Its rock.

Yes, but its softish limestone and sandstone and all you have to do it to 'gently' assemble everything.

Oh, B-

Ah, ah, not everything is igneous, you have to be gentle with the softer stuff.

Now look at Oddment and how delicately he handles the JCB...

But how am I supposed to be gentle when using the rock piling machine?

Could you just be a little more delicate when you let go of the weight?

Mutter, curse...
