I should imagine your friend would find this poem excellent. Many powerfully-couched lines.'Scythed to earth a bitter harvest, Legacy of power and pride,' and the two final lines particularly resonate.
The allusion, at the opening of Festival of Remembrance, to the falling petals as 'souls descending' seemed particularly well-considered.
