This was posted on save the fire brigade page (facebook) and I was so moved I offered to share on our site if author so wished. He contacted me yesterday with full permission and very chuffed about a wider audience. I have said any of the emergency services can send us poems - opening out FLOW - please take a minute to read the Firefighters poem - thanks Jan

This poem is so powerful. It takes us into the mind of the writer and lets us feel their torment amongst all those ingredients such as failure, pride, waste, pain and loss.
This is a poem that needs recognition and I think should be sent far and wide.
Great poem and I very much hope there may be more yet to reach the surface of our great poet. Thank you for sharing.
