Iíve slipped back to my childhood
When I was but a mere boy
Though we were not part of the affluent society
We all all had a favourite toy
For some boys it was perhaps toy soldiers
And various battles they fought
Or perhaps some Roller Skates maybe
Cricket, football or another sport
But for girls things were different
And although some liked to kick a ball
Others liked to play Doctors and Nurses
Or Cinderella dressing up no interest in sport at all
But most girls wished to have a pram
In which to push their favourite doll
Racism wasnít even considered
No P C correct persons on patrol
They pushed their chosen favourite
Up the road or round the Park
Always making sure of course
To be back home before dark
They all seemed to have their favourites
Some were baby dolls black or white
The colour never seemed to matter
As they always held them tight
And here we see them side by side
Golli suited with his Bow Tie
Alongside Trendy Wendy
