This is an update on what is happening to me physically and neurologically.

I have just resigned from the Royal British Legion Notts County Committee and I think that it is likely that I shall resign from most of my groups and orgs, or that is to say from active participation at committee level.

My speech is going and I am losing my decision process at a verbal level, more tests are being run and more brain scans; silence does not frighten me because it is my preferred world, though I shall miss being able to read my poetry out loud and to discuss the everyday things with people or to go to a shop and buy something.

I have been aware of this for a long while now but it is only now reaching a point where it is noticeable to others.

However, there are many ways to communicate - touch and giving a hug or cuddle; signs and gestures; letters and cartoons and pictures; just being there for someone else; to sit for a few hours with a collecting tin or to pick up litter; to walk with a friend in a meadow and accept the world as it is.

This is another lesson in living and I accept it as I have accepted all other things in my life; it will change me profoundly, but I think that I shall grow stronger from it.

Chris Green

I see this as a loss for society, all those people you have helped and educated Chris will miss your input. I have long mentioned your intellect and even wit to so many people who I talk to so the greater loss is ours. I hope you will continue to communicate to us lot in here as we enjoy and value your input very much.
Good luck mucker.

You put it so well Mac - Chris I know you will draw from your inner strength - a strength I for one have felt through yourself. Also your total honesty does you proud, take good care,
Jan

Oddment: 'Bit grim in here, not like our friendly threads at all, what's PTSD.'

Oddenstein: probably something mundane and military like Pressed Terylene Service Dress.

Oddment: 'It says down there that he hears voices...'

Oddenstein: 'Yes, that's nothing to worry about...'

Oddment: 'Why?'

Oddenstein: 'He's just hearing us, that's all, like I said not a thing to worry about...'

Monument: 'Snort, snovel, snuffle, sneeze, what are you two doing down here, don't you know its very dangerous to go walking around in someone else's head?'

Oddenstein: 'This is the head I'm supposed to be walking around in, what are you doing here?'

Monument: 'I live in here...'

Oddenstein: 'I admit that we have only just got the new thread map so we have only just started to examine all the corridors and coils in the brain...'

Monument: ' Well if you keep walking around long enough, in here, you are bound to find yourself coming at yourself from several directions, not to mention me and your thin friend and Figment, Fragment, Moment - whom you should avoid as much as possible (damn feller came third in a duel) - and goodness knows what else.'

Oddment: 'I want to go back to my thread.'

Oddenstein: 'Its only just getting interesting.'

Monument: 'Did you bring a gun?'

Oddenstein: 'No.'

Monument: 'Here have mine...'

The empty claw passed over a non-existent firearm.

Oddenstein: 'Um.'

Monument: 'Take it, it exists 'in potentia' so have a really strong and focused imagination when you need it, what kind of gun do you normally use?'

Oddenstein: 'A tank mounted multi-barrelled elephant gun.'

Monument: 'You mean a Gatling Gun?'

Oddenstein: 'Correct.'

Oddment: 'He just uses it on the rabbits.'

Monument: 'Can't be much left of them afterwards, what do you eat?'

Oddenstein: 'Oh I don't eat them, I just like to chase them around a bit, it satisfies my bloodlust and urge to take over the world and nuke everyone else.'

Monument: 'Most of us, in here, have experienced that, I think it is permanently part of the brain's subroutines.'

Oddment: 'You mean that this brain is seriously psychopathic.'

Monument: 'Oh no, just vaguely human and a bit old stone age, its got a very direct approach to being annoyed, have you seen the graffitti on the wall over there?

Asperger was HERE

Oddment: 'We keep seeing it everywhere.'

Monument: 'Whoever he was he gets around in here, you even find him on the down and up flow of the spine.'

Oddment: 'Are we likely to bump into him?'

Monument: 'Shouldn't think so, there are some skeletons in one of the cupboards and a partially completed piece of graffitti, so I think it likely that you will be waiting an eternity, on the other hand here comes an eternity now...'

7 Dwarfs: 'Hiho, Hiho, Hi-ho' etc, etc, disappearing down a slightly small tunnel and disappearing round the U-Bend.

Monument: 'ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, see yourselves out and don't touch anything, we have enough problems in here all ready...'

Oddenstein: "Right tie the end of that thread to Monument."

Oddment: "Why do I have to carry the cotton reel?"

Oddenstein: "I'm too big for the harness that came with it and I am carrying this rather large map."

Oddment: "Oh, its a map... I did wonder why you were carrying a large carpet."

Oddenstein: "Yes, it is a carpet and it is also a thread map, at a push it is a large sleeping bag, a tent and conceivably, should conditions be right, a form of transport."

Oddment: "Where next?"

How about in here.

Oddenstein: "I did not see your mouth move - did you say that?"

Oddment: "Did you?"

Well, do I have to put you in there or are you going to visit me quietly?

Oddment: "Its the biped."

Oddenstein: "Who said you could join in, this was supposed to be a quiet meander through the back-waters of your brain?"

Well if you are going to be like that, I won't offer to let you live in the visitor's suite - mmmmmm...

Oddenstein: "Visitor's suite? Hot and cold running dungeon sort of thing?"

No, a comfortable and dry swamp, conference room, heated lounge, pressurised sand shower, 10,000 episodes of Jeremy Clarkson and F1 the Ferrari Years, which I know are particular favourites.

Oddenstein: "Lead on - huhuhuhuhuhuh."

Edit: a sub-thread or possibly one of those pieces of carpet that invariably fall off is to be found in the thread 'Introduce Yourself' in the Dungeon Dimensions Reception and Welcome Area

Let me see, back to the mundane reality of everyday life, only for a while - don't get your hopes up - grin, well I saw my psychiatrist yesterday and now I have to go and see a clinical psychologist and a psycho-analyst.

Must be a herd thing, you see one and suddenly there is a convention of them.

At least it has got me back into the gardening group and I can catch up with a lot of friends over there.

I have been considering the loss of verbal decision process and I think that this is less annoying than my inability, due to nerve damage in my neck, to smile or grin.

Certainly, I find that I have to pre-think sets of circumstances and then write up scripts for myself, which I then learn and use when a set of similar circumstances occur, therefore I am circumventing the annoyance of no smile.

I am using the same thing to overcome the lack of verbal decision process and I think that I shall be able to have a set of scripts that allow me to appear to be fully functioning, in a limited sense.

I'm being referred to a Clinical Psychologist for more testing and to I.S.A.S. (Incest and Sexual Abuse Survivors).

It is the book on my autism that is digging up stuff that I thought I had coped with.

What is it about England, here we have a simple little Bank Holiday and Newark closes down from Wednesday to Wednesday?

Still no sign of any funding to allow me to move, so I cannot give anyone any dates, so I am under a lot of self-manufactured stress because I cannot get anything done.

Must change the batteries in this keyboard, only half the letters are getting typed first time - 'No! It is not the top half, Oddenstein!'

He's in my head and I can feel him glaring out through my eyeballs, "why aren't you packing? Why aren't you cartooning? Why don't you take a photograph of me?"

"Fill those forms in and stop typing."

Ah, well it is not everyone who has a portable conscience that switches off when laid on a warm radiator.
